Christian book-publisher Arrested For Raping His 2 Sons

So why is it that it the openly gay people that are destroying the world? This only shows the crazy evangelical crap that gays can’t raise kids is just BS. It starting to look like it is not the gays we should worry about…

From the Tennessean

Brentwood man was arrested yesterday on charges of raping and sexually abusing two of his children over the course of five years.

The 50-year-old man is being held at the Williamson County Jail in lieu of posting $500,000 bail. A court date had not been set yesterday.

The two children, boys ages 12 and 16, have been removed from the home, according to police.

The suspect is involved in the Christian book-publishing industry, according to police and numerous Web sites.

At this point, I am starting to think we should take the kids awar from them...

Polls Show Bush Approval Unchanged.

Looks as if this president has worn out his welcome to most of the American people. He gave his series of “Everything is going Great in Iraq” speeches last month. He has had a few press conferences (One was very staged), and still the American people are not buying it.

According to The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press Bush’s poll numbers are still at 38%, up a whopping NOTHING over last month, and a soaring 2 points over his November. Face it, most Americans are over Bush, we are over the broken laws, we are over the lies, we are over the whole fear shit.

From The Pew Research Center

The poll shows that, as with views of congressional leaders, Washington's controversies have not had an impact on opinions of the president. Bush's approval rating has not changed since December (38% approve/54% disapprove). However, the Democratic Party holds a sizable advantage over the GOP as the party better able to handle the country's most important problem. Fully 41% believe the Democratic Party can do a better job of handling the nation's top problem, compared with 27% who say the Republican Party. This represents a major shift from a year ago, when the public split about evenly on which party could better address the most important national problem.

Bush Returns To The "My Critics Are Irresponsible" Whining

Bush Returns To The "My Critics Are Irresponsible" Whining - Oh no kids; Bush is back with his "aiding the enemy" attacks against us. This is coming from a man who fought the Vietnam war from under a barstool in Alabama while defending the Gulf Coast from the VC. President... [Left Coaster]

I think what is irresponsible is not those that are critics but an administration that lies us into a WAR, drains the bank of all our money, totally screws the war up and them attempts to cry about it when people point out that HE has caused all this.

Bush is Irresponsible, not those that point it out, this is a last ditch effort to use 9/11 to stop people from pointing out a failure.

You have rode that horse till it's dead Mr. Bush, move along and do something that is good for Americans for a change.

Bush 1.0 Failed - Hopes You Like Bush 2.0

But we all know Bush 2.0 is the same as Bush 1.0, with a new tie.

Well I am guessing by the tone of this article that Bush is going to try to recreate himself in much the Madonna did it 14 times in the last 25 years. Bush is seeing that he has just about ridden the 9/11 pony to death, and barring a new terrorist attack (Don’t worry, I am sure Cheney is planning it as we speak) Bush is going to go back to hi fake roots. He is going to attempt to convince people that he is a compassionate conservative.

Now the fact is Bush is many things (Fill in blank here) but he is no compassionate conservative. Also note that when he did run on the bullshit, he lost the popular vote. And what are we going to get from this, Same shit as before, a screw the middle-class, screw more the poor, forget children, screw students, and spend this nations money faster than we can print it on "Terror", something that we can not defeat, only control.

From the Boston Globe

Climbing his way out of low public ratings and facing a bruising battle to maintain Republican control of Congress, President Bush is seeking to resurrect his early reputation as a compassionate conservative who reaches across the aisle, according to officials close to the White House.

Last week's presidential calendar previewed a softer Bush style in the new year as he trekked to the State Department to reveal to 70 university presidents an initiative to encourage American students to learn Arabic and other ''critical need" languages. Earlier that same day, he solicited advice on the Iraq war from a group of former Cabinet secretaries that included staunch Democratic critics.

Bush's Fire at the Reichstag.

Wow, it looks like even some Republicans are starting to see what has been clear to many for some time. This administration is out of control, and they are attempting to turn the office of the presidency into a dictatorship. Bush has said, under no uncertain terms that he is above the law, that he does not have to answer to Congress or the American people, and those on the right are clapping their hands together as Bush rails it in their ass.

So do you really love this president more than you move this nation?

Check this out from the Press Briefing.

Q Scott, a few days ago, conservative columnist Paul Craig Roberts had a column where he compared the administration's use of September 11th with Hitler and the Reichstag fire as a blanket cover for extraordinary measures. Now, this is coming from a conservative columnist; this is not Nancy Pelosi. Doesn't this concern you that these kind of reactions have come up especially with all the revelations about the NSA and spying?

MR. McCLELLAN: I haven't seen his column -- I haven't seen his column. But what -- your characterization I would reject wholeheartedly.

If you want to read the story from Paul Craig Roberts, you can do so right here.

FACT: Federal Election Commission Says NO DEMOCRAT got Abramoff Money

The right wing must be going nuts, because the fact is not a single Democrat took a single thin dime from Jack Abramoff. Hey, don’t believe me, you can see for yourself, all of this is on the net, and who better to get this information from then the very guys that track this stuff, the Federal Election Commission.

Go here is a search of their site, and you will see not a single Democrat on this list. Come go, educate yourself on the facts.

Rep Ney is Ethics Teacher, Number 1 on Abramoff List.

I file this under the “I could not make this up if I tried”. Before you are able to sit down at your desk in congress you have to take a class on ethics. Now this is not the odd part, the odd part is that Rep. Bob Ney is the teacher!

Ney is the first one listed in the Abramoff scandal, I mean it is starting to look like Ney and Abramoff  are joined at the hip.

So, the man who is about neck deep in scandal is teaching ethics to new congress member.

ThinkProgress has some more.

Not only has Frist tapped Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) — a key player in the K Street Project — to craft a conservative version of lobbying reform, the House has tasked one of its most corrupt members instruct new lawmakers on ethics:

Before they take their seats in the House of Representatives, newly elected lawmakers come to Washington for a weeklong orientation that includes a briefing on congressional ethics.

Presiding over their instruction is the chairman of the House Administration Committee, who since 2001 has been Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio.

Ney has been named as Representative #1 in the plea agreeements of both Abramoff and his partner, Michael Scanlon, detailing lavish gifts, travel, and contributions from the lobbyists in return for Ney’s cooperation in Congress. You can find more details of Ney’s extensive ties to Abramoff here.

Brownback: 9/11 Resolution Did Not Give Bush Authority for Warrantless Wiretapping

Sen. Sam Brownback, the man that is so far right that he makes the Pope look like a crazy pot smoking hippy, has make it clear that he did not give Bush the okay to wiretap people. There is a growing list of conservatives that are no cool with Bush right now.

From ThinkProgress

further undermining the right-wing spin that the only critics of the program are liberals. On ABC’s This Week:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Are you confident that the administration has acted lawfully in this case?

BROWNBACK: I think we need to hold hearings on it and we’re going to. Both in the intelligence committee, there will be closed hearings and then the judiciary committee will have open hearings.

I think we need to look at this case and this issue. I am troubled by what the basis for the grounds that the administration says that they did these on, the legal basis, and I think we need to look at that far more broadly and understand it a great deal.

I think this is something that bears looking into and us to be able to establish a policy within constitutional frameworks of what a president can or cannot do.

STEPHANOPOULOS: You don’t think the 9/11 resolution gave the president the authority for this program?

BROWNBACK: It didn’t, in my vote. I voted for that resolution. That was a week after 9/11. There was nothing you were going to do to stop us from going to war in Afghanistan, but there was no discussion in anything that I was around that that gave the president a broad surveillance authority with that resolution

Ha ha ha, Tom Delay is Out

Knowing that his own party is backing away from him like a steaming pile of shit, Tom Delay has stepped down as House majority leader.

The first smart thing this man has done ever!

How Long are You Going to Let Him Lie to You?

This is what the White House said on Tuesday...

MR. McCLELLAN: Yes, I said it's possible that they would have met at a holiday reception or some other widely attended gathering. The President does not know him, nor does the President recall ever meeting him.

Q But he has the special designation as a Pioneer, as Terry was alluding to, raising more than $100,000. And he attended, as you told us, three events, holiday receptions at the White House. How likely is it that the President would not have met him --

MR. McCLELLAN: That's why I said it's possible. But I just told you what I know at this point, and the President doesn't recall meeting him and he certainly doesn't know him.

This is a lie

Not only does Bush know him, but within a few months of taking office allowed Jack to use him to raise money.

From Truthout...

He had just concluded his work on the Bush Transition Team as an advisor to the Department of the Interior. He had sent his personal assistant Susan Ralston to the White House to work as Rove's personal assistant. He was a close friend, advisor, and high-dollar fundraiser for the most powerful man in Congress, Tom DeLay. Abramoff was so closely tied to the Bush Administration that he could, and did, charge two of his clients $25,000 for a White House lunch date and a meeting with the President. From the same two clients he took to the White House in May 2001, Abramoff also obtained $2.5 million in contributions for a non-profit foundation he and his wife operated.

Abramoff's White House guests were the chiefs of two of the six casino-rich Indian tribes he and his partner Mike Scanlon ultimately billed $82 million for services tribal leaders now claim were never performed or were improperly performed. Together the six tribes would make $10 million in political contributions, at Abramoff's direction, almost all of it to Republican campaigns of his choosing. On May 9, 2001, when he ushered the two tribal chiefs into the White House to meet the President, The Washington Post story that would end his lobbying career and begin two Senate Committee investigations was three years away. (When the Post story broke in February 2004, however, Abramoff and Scanlon, a former Tom DeLay press aide, were already targets of a U.S. Attorney's investigation in Washington.)

Nepotism, the Fruit of the Bush Administration

Hey, while you were focused on the miners George Bush used the “Winter Break” that congress is on Bush did another round of “Recess Appointments”. Let me remind you what these are, this is a loophole that is written in the Constitution that allows the president to appointing people in times of emergency. Well while I know others have used it, Bush has made it an art form.

So who did he appoint? Well the new head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau is related to the failure that is the Department of Homeland Security, he appointed Michael Chertoff’s WIFE! I mean it, he has given the job that is in control of the largest investigative agencies in the federal government to the wife of the man who failed you in Katrina.

Well maybe she has experience in immigration, right? Sorry boys and girls, NOPE. The only immigrant she has meet is her housekeeper.

Face it people Bush does not care about you, he only cares about paying people back for “favors”. Nepotism is the only think this administration cares about.

From Chris Strohm of govexec.com

Critics said Thursday she is too inexperienced to manage a vast bureaucracy, while supporters contended she is perfect for the job.

Whatever the take, there was widespread consensus that 36-year-old Julie Myers has her work cut out for her as she takes charge of the Homeland Security Department's Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau. Myers previously worked in the departments of Treasury, Commerce and Justice, and most recently served as a special assistant to Bush.

-snip-

Concerns about her management experience grew considerably last fall after the government's failed response to Hurricane Katrina caused Michael Brown to resign as chief of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Lawmakers began to scrutinize presidential appointees' political and personal connections more closely just as Myers was nominated.

The Truth about Republicans.

This was posted by txaslftist over on DU, and I think they are dead on...

I recently read Lakoff's "Don't think of an elephant", and he makes an interesting observation in there. After Clinton balanced the budget (and he did it in the face of Republican opposition, which is what they want you to forget), he kept the social programs, like medicare and social security and such, largely intact, and in fact managed to find money to increase some programs.

The Republicans were furious. They'd been advocating killing those programs since they were created. Bush's tax cuts were intentional, but the intent was not just to cut taxes and shift the tax burden to the middle class, but also to resurrect the deficit. The idea being that if the deficit got large enough, it would create an emergency in the bond market and with inflation so great that the Republicans could justify cutting those programs.

In other words, the fiscal irresponsibility of the Bush administration is not an accident or a failing, but rather a deliberate ploy to create a justification for cutting these popular programs which otherwise could never be cut.

To put it more simply, the idea is to deliberately mismanage the budget and LIHOP a crisis, then respond to the crisis by doing what they wanted to do in the first place, but never could have gotten away with. Just like ANWAR.

To put it even more simply, the Republicans have deliberately fucked up our economy. They've hurt the country on purpose to get what they want and thwart the will of the people.

They are our enemies.

Baptist Church Pastor Arrested For Propositioning a Man for Oral.

I love how the evangelical whack-jobs are just crazy about us gays, some more crazy than others.

From Tulsa OK NBC Channel 2

An executive committee member of the Southern Baptist Convention was arrested on a lewdness charge for propositioning a plainclothes policeman outside a hotel, police said.

Lonnie Latham, senior pastor at South Tulsa Baptist Church, was booked into Oklahoma County Jail Tuesday night on a misdemeanor charge of offering to engage in an act of lewdness, police Capt. Jeffrey Becker said. Latham was released on $500 bail Wednesday afternoon.

Latham, who has spoken out against homosexuality, asked the officer to join him in his hotel room for oral sex. Latham was arrested and his 2005 Mercedes automobile was impounded, Becker said.

There are the people that you are allowing to take over your faith? These are the people you have running your life?

Outlaw on Torture, as Long as Bush Does Not Want to Torture

George Bush signed the bill that outlawing the torture of detainees, but said that if he wanted to, he would break it and the nation can go screw itself. I thought that Bush, and the Republicans are all hell bent on the
"Rule of Law", I guess that is until the law says you can not torture people, or spy on Americans, then, all bets are off.

This makes me sick, that our "president" wants, no, begs to be allowed to torture people in the name of America, that he has no regard for the law, and that the congress is so neutered by this administration that it WILL NOT stand up and call a this administration what it is, ruthless outlaws!

From the Boston Globe

hen President Bush last week signed the bill outlawing the torture of detainees, he quietly reserved the right to bypass the law under his powers as commander in chief.

Money So Dirty Bush Gives it Back...

According to Reuters, Mr. Bush will be donating to charity the $6000 smackers that his administration got from the now convicted felon, Jack Abramoff. I guess this is in hope of nothing getting on him when this whole thing hits the fan.

Now giving the dirty money to charity does not make you absolved of your sins, it just makes YOU feel better. I am only assume that this was not a move thought up by Bush, he has no conscious, and therefore does not care about feeling better (That is what vodka is for methinks). So this must be a purely political move.

We will see, this is going to be an anchor around the necks of the Republicans for years to come, remember that they ran in 1994 as the party of purity, and that they were not going to be as corrupts as those damn Democrats. It took 10 years to surpass the levels of corruption that took the Democrats 40 years to build. What do we learn?

===Republicans Leading you to hell 4 times faster.===

The other question is, what charity? Here are a few I am thinking about.
*Barbara and Jenna rehab fund
*Impeached Presidents Fund
*George Bush Legal Defense Fund
*RNC
*The People that love Jesus and hate everyone else fund
*AA
